Testing the Hypothesis

Students at the University of Florida have a difficult time parking motorized vehicles because often times parking lots or garages are full and there is no way to tell when there are available spots.

Interview #1 Brett Mira

Do you think adding a tracker of open parking spots with a collaborative app to connect would be useful?
Yes I do because I often spend over 15 minutes at night driving around trying to find a spot for my car.

What do you think is the biggest reason for this?
I believe there is a lack of parking spots for the amount of cars on campus.

Interview #2 Yacob Estevens

What do you think of the amount of parking spots on campus?
Honestly, I drive a scooter and there is never a lack of parking where I need to go.

So do you think an app tracking the amount of parking spots available would benefit you?
I don’t think I would use it often, but it couldn’t hurt to have.

Interview #3 Jovani Pastrana

Where do you have the most problem parking around campus?
I can never find spots in the Norman Garage, it is always so pack.

Do you think faculty would also appreciate a tracker of the amount of parking spaces available?
Yes, I’m sure on the way to work or if they had to come in another time it would be helpful to faculty too.

Interview #4 Jake Levy

Do you think adding a tracker of open parking spots with a collaborative app to connect would be useful?
I don’t personally drive, but I know people have trouble getting spots around UF.

Interview #5 Matt Freedman

Where do you have the most problem parking around campus?
Well, I’m in the business school and there is not really anywhere to park around Heavener.

Do you often have issues parking your car?
Well I live off campus, and there is not great parking over there either.

Overall, I found out that my idea could be a success. People truly do have a hard time parking around campus, it’s not just me. It is a huge opportunity that would be popular around campus.
