In this exercise, I interviewed Jovani Pastrana, Jake
Greenberg, and Matthew Udine. These students all park on campus, and typically
struggle to find parking. Since my product is an application that would be
downloaded, rather than purchased online or in a store, I approached the
questioning a little differently.
When asking what matters the most when downloading an
application, the general consensus among the people I interviewed were that the
most important qualities about an application that they would like to download are
free apps and apps with high speed. The application would most likely be
downloaded from an app store or a downloadable link. All of the interviewees
did not have a problem with this method. Jovani Pastrana added that during his
post-purchase evaluation of a purchase, he determines whether or not it was a
good purchase by how often he uses it.
This exercise has definitely opened my eyes to some aspects
of the buyers’ perspective. I have a lot of similar mindsets as the buyers, so
that is good because it guides me to creating the best product possible.
