Existing market
I spoke with Max Udine, Alex Teichner, and Samantha Goldstein,
who are all students at UF who all drive on campus consistently.
Based on the feedback that I received, my plan of action
moving forward is to first make social media pages and reach out to as many
people as I can in the immediate area. The advice I received from Alex Teichner
was that people are on their phones and computers constantly, so if they see
that pop up consistently they will eventually check it out. It is honestly
great advice because I have personally done that with apps and websites.
Bouncing off of what Teichner said, Samantha Goldstein
included that it would be worth my time to do some sort of fund raiser so I can
have money to advertise. Putting up signs and even having digital and physical
advertisements could help immensely. As a product that makes a profit strictly
based off of downloads and usage, all the exposure possibly is very important.
New Market
The new market I chose was New York City, which is extremely
different from Gainesville, Florida. I know two people who live in the city,
Alex Greenberg and Jonathon Hurwitz so I interviewed them.
Alex Greenberg straight up told me that my product would not
be applicable to him. He does not have his car with him in New York, and takes
taxis and Ubers to most places that he does not walk. He thinks the idea is
good, but just not for him.
Jonathon Hurwitz thinks that my idea would actually be
successful where he works. There is a parking garage, and although he has a
reserved spot, there are many first come first serve spots (similar to UF
parking garages). He thinks that people would love the amount of time they
would save looking for a spot in that garage. He is just not sure how many
places in New York City this is available for.
